Mary’s consultancies are built upon her 39 years as a classroom teacher, center director, college instructor and early childhood education consultant. She tailors her work to each individual program in the same way she tailors classroom practices to individual children, families and students. She recognizes that every relationship matters within a program and designs her work to build relationships that create networks of support.

 

Her coaching and staff development work builds on a understanding of developmentally and culturally appropriate practice, child centered learning philosophies, and rich curriculum development. She believes in  supporting programs' accountability to families and commitment to high quality standards.

 

Over the years she has discovered that transformative conversations work best combined with hands on creative work, and serious discussion punctuated with laughter.
